“Many artists revere the original cadenza as the heart of the work, so it is with deep gratitude that I commend Mr. Chen for taking on the formidable task of premiering the Freeman cadenza. I am honored and humbled to have such an artist I so deeply admire, love, and respect breathe life into my work.”
